Is it really November already?!?

November News ...

Welcome families! I want to personally thank all of you who have scheduled and attended your child's conference. It has been inspiring watching your child describe their own learning during the first nine weeks. If you haven't yet scheduled your conference, please do so as we are beginning our last week of conferences. If you need another sign-up sheet, please let us know.

High School Prep: Ms. Ivey and Ms. Rebecca are setting up field trips for our 8th grade students to visit various high school programs. The best way for you to learn more about what Chatham County has to offer is to visit choice.sccpss.com. You will see information about the application process, requirements, and important dates. Please start having the high school conversation with your 8th grader if you haven't already. High schools have been invited to come to Ellis December 5th to showcase their programs. More information will be forthcoming.

Prospective parent meetings start this week. If you know anyone who is interested in our school, please direct them to our website (ellis.sccpss.com) for dates, times, and a sign up to attend. They may contact Ms. Patra (patra.rickman@sccpss.com), with any questions.

The deadline for PTA Wreath Sales is tomorrow, 11/4. If you are still interested in ordering, please do so asap at the link in your email (https://sffsalestrack.com/ellismontessoripta). All proceeds go toward our school garden. Your support is appreciated.

November 20 is Career Day for the Upper El and Erdkinder programs. Ms. Rebecca and Ms. Ivey are looking for parents who are willing to come in and share their careers with our students. If you are available and interested in participating, please get in touch with Ms. Rebecca (rebecca.burkhart@sccpss.com) or Ms. Ivey (ivey.poinsette@sccpss.com).

You may have heard your child talk about the "Soft Lockdown" we had this week. This safety procedure was practiced in the event a lockdown is necessary. As usual, our students demonstrated complete grace and courtesy as the police officers did a search of our classroom. If you have any questions or concerns, I am happy to answer your questions or direct them to Ms. Tanya.

Model U.N. - Our GEP students, as well as a few other students, are participating in Model U.N. this Friday. The students will be headed to Statesboro at 7 am and are expected to return around 6:15 pm. This is always a fun and educational trip for our students and we look forward to hearing about their experience.

PTA MEETING: Thursday, 11/7 @ 6:30 in the MPR. We'd love to see you there!

Please mark your calendars for next Monday, 11/11. It is a school holiday in recognition of Veteran's Day.

Parent Education Workshop: 11/14. The topic will be food and nutrition. Please join us if you are able to do so.

Last, but not least, several of you have asked what we need in our classrooms. Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity. We are in need of the following items:
Paper towels
Plastic cutlery (forks and spoons)
Paper plates
Dry erase markers
Hand sanitizer

Have a great week,
Ms. Susan
