We're Almost There....

Welcome to the last week of school :)

I apologize for the lack of posts recently. As you are probably aware, the past two weeks were extremely busy with Charles Ellis Presents preparations as well as Field Day. We are also working on our last two assignments in English/Language Arts and Social Studies. In ELA, students are completing their poetry books and in Social Studies, students are concluding their presentations tomorrow. Both of these assignments will be counted as a test grade, so it is extremely important that they are completed.

I hope that many of you were able to join us for Charles Ellis Presents last week. All of the writing, singing, and props was done by the students! We have some serious creative talent in the building and it makes me proud to see what they are able to accomplish all on their own! Also, the Gallery on 49th took place Thursday as well and has some impressive works of art from our students, parents, and professional artists in our community. Take some time to peruse the Gallery if you have time this week.

Speaking of this week, we are conducting the final parent conferences for your child. If you have not received a notice (in your child's planner), need to reschedule, etc., please let us know at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

And now, a note from Nurse Chris:

Current 6th graders need to be aware that as they enter 7th grade they are required to have updated vaccines.  Be sure that you are aware of your child's needs.  AND Parents, please plan to pick up your child's medications this week.  All medications not picked up by May 20th will be destroyed.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call Nurse Chris.

Helping One of Our Own:
* Help us help one of our own!  The Wacky Lego Challenge will be held Tuesday, May 17, to raise funds for one of our students battling Leukemia.  Students who wish to participate need to donate $5 and bring a gallon size baggie of their own Legos!  Also on Tuesday, we have a dairy cow visiting!  Legos and a cow all in one day!

Have a wonderful week :)
