Week of January 23-27

January rain brings creative thoughts...
I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend indoors as the rain provides us with the opportunity to spend time with our families and to read, of course. And on that note, please make sure your wonderful child is reading Hatchet. We are currently reading Chapters 5-8. If you have not yet purchased the book, it is available online through a Google search, audible.com, and youtube.com. It is really important for your child to have access to Hatchet at home as there are homework assignments to complete.

I am excited to announce that the DEEP Writing Program begins this week on Thursday afternoon from 3 - 4:15. We have a lovely group of students who are participating this semester and I look forward to seeing what they accomplish.
On that note, I am finally starting Writing Workshop on Wednesday - I am so excited to introduce the students to this wonderful teaching method and hope to encourage them to embrace their creative side. The Writing Workshop method also prepares students to write more thoughtfully and academically.

**Girls' and Boys' Basketball games start this week - please check the school website for details.

*Reminder: Friday, 1/27, is a dress-down day for students for $1.00 to go to Dollars for Disaster.
*Please check Google Classroom for any other assignment details/dates.
