Weekly Announcements September 9, 2019

Good evening, families -

I hope you are all well following the events associated with Hurricane Dorian and are ready to get back to work on Monday, 9/9.

7th grade students will have a hearing and vision screening on Tuesday, 9/10. If your child wears glasses or contacts, please make sure they bring them to school.

A field trip is planned for Erdkinder students who are enrolled in Spanish with Ms. Colleen. It is scheduled for 9/11 to Islands High School.

Students who expressed interest in the DEEP Writing Program have been notified of their acceptance. Classes begin Thursday, 9/19, from 3 - 4:30. It has proven to be a valuable program and I'm pleased that so many Erdkinder students are eager to write!

Grab-n-Go Breakfast Program:
All students are eligible for the free school breakfast program until 7:50 am. A station will be set up near the media center for students' convenience. Please encourage your child to participate.

A note from MESS: There is a film screening of "Inside Montessori" which will be shown at the Yamacraw Center of Performing Arts on 9/12 from 6 - 9 pm. Following the screening of the film, there will be a panel discussion with leaders in Montessori education. We want to extend our thanks to MESS (Montessori Education Society of Savannah) for sponsoring this educational event.

8th grade parents: Please remember that the trip to Jekyll Island is fast approaching. Money and permission slips need to be returned to Mr. Sean as soon as possible. If you have any questions, you may contact him at sean.vetrovsky@sccpss.com.
